Zapping the brain to fight untreatable depression

NCT ID NCT04159012

Summary

This study aimed to test if a mild, non-invasive electrical brain stimulation could help people with severe depression that hasn't improved with at least five different antidepressant medications or other intensive treatments. Participants would have received either real or fake (sham) stimulation sessions while continuing their usual care. The goal was to see if the stimulation reduced depression symptoms and improved daily functioning.
