Scientists map the Brain's Social-Emotional circuits in real time
NCT ID NCT05418894
Summary
This study aims to understand how the brain processes social and emotional information in people with severe, treatment-resistant depression or epilepsy. Researchers will use electrodes temporarily implanted in the brain for clinical care to record and gently stimulate brain activity while participants perform mood-related tasks. The goal is to create a detailed map of these brain circuits to help design better future treatments for a range of mental health conditions.
