NCT ID NCT07439939
First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at why blood clots form in the portal vein (a major liver vein) in people with liver cirrhosis. Researchers will take blood samples from two different veins during a routine procedure called TIPS to compare clotting activity. The goal is to understand how local and whole-body changes in clotting and inflammation contribute to clot formation. 45 adults with cirrhosis who need a TIPS procedure will take part.
