NCT ID NCT05454202

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested a non-invasive device called ANI that measures heart rate patterns to assess comfort in 20 non-communicating patients receiving end-of-life palliative care. The goal was to see if the ANI could reliably detect pain during procedures, compared to a standard nurse observation scale. If proven effective, this tool could help caregivers better manage pain in patients who cannot speak.
