First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study tested whether a personalized lifestyle program could help adults with insulin resistance, obesity, diabetes, or related conditions improve their metabolic health. Forty participants first received either nutrition or exercise counseling. Those who didn't improve after 8 weeks were offered weight-loss diet counseling or metformin. The goal was to see if this flexible approach is practical in a family medicine clinic and to gather early data on its effectiveness.
