Heart ablation may shift stroke risk – new study investigates
NCT ID NCT05635864
First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study looked at 167 adults with atrial fibrillation or flutter who were scheduled for their first catheter ablation. Researchers measured stroke and bleeding risk scores before the procedure and again at 3, 6, and 12 months after. They also used heart monitors and smartwatches to track heart rhythms. The goal was to see if ablation changes these risk scores and to compare different ways of monitoring heart rhythm afterward.
