3D ultrasound could improve skin cancer surgery accuracy

NCT ID NCT07402616

First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special 3D ultrasound can accurately measure how deep a skin cancer (squamous cell carcinoma) goes after it's removed. About 30 adults will have their tumor scanned with 3D ultrasound after surgery, and the results will be compared to standard lab tests. If successful, this method could help doctors ensure all cancer is removed without extra procedures.
