NCT ID NCT07099547
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This phase 2 trial is testing whether adding an experimental immunotherapy drug called ZG005 to standard chemotherapy (gemcitabine and cisplatin) can help people with advanced gallbladder cancer. About 60 participants will receive either the combination or standard treatment. The study is currently recruiting and will measure how well tumors respond and what side effects occur.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
ZG005 (an experimental immunotherapy) combined with gemcitabine and cisplatin chemotherapy
What this could lead to
If successful, this could offer a more effective first-line treatment option for advanced gallbladder cancer, potentially shrinking tumors and extending life.
What could go wrong
This is an early Phase 2 study with only 60 participants, so results are preliminary. The combination may cause significant side effects, and it is not yet known if it works better than standard care.
