Summary

This study compares the effects of yoga versus stretching-strengthening exercises on physical fitness, mental well-being, and sleep quality in sedentary young adults aged 18-30. Participants will be assigned to one of two groups and will attend supervised sessions twice a week for six weeks. The goal is to see which exercise type leads to better improvements based on a person's starting fitness and psychological profile.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
yoga and stretching-strengthening exercises
What this could lead to
If successful, this could help identify which type of exercise is best for improving fitness and well-being in people who are not active.
What could go wrong
This is a small, short-term study with only 50 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The exercises are supervised, so real-world adherence might differ.
