New lupus drug combo enters first human safety trial
NCT ID NCT07512947
First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This early-stage trial is testing a new drug called YKST02, given alone or with another drug YK012, in 30 people with active or hard-to-treat lupus. The main goal is to see if the drugs are safe and tolerable. Participants will receive intravenous infusions and be monitored for about 49 weeks, with blood samples taken to study how the drugs work in the body.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
YKST02 (a drug) given alone or with YK012 (another drug)
What this could lead to
If this early trial shows the drugs are safe and seem to work, it could point toward a new treatment option for people with active lupus that hasn't responded to standard therapies.
What could go wrong
This is a very early, small Phase 1 trial with only 30 people. It is designed mainly to check safety, not to prove the drugs work. The drugs may not be effective or could cause side effects.
