No more arm cuffs? wrist wearable could change BP checks
NCT ID NCT04835857
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study compares a new wrist-worn device (ViTrack) that measures blood pressure without a cuff to traditional arm-cuff devices. About 91 healthy volunteers with normal or high blood pressure will have their readings compared. The goal is to see if the wrist wearable is accurate and comfortable.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a comfortable, continuous way to monitor blood pressure without a traditional arm cuff.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage device comparison study, not a treatment trial. The wrist wearable may not match the accuracy of standard cuffs.
