First seen Mar 31, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked at whether whole body magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can correctly identify inflammatory muscle diseases like myositis. Researchers tested 139 people with suspected muscle inflammation to see how well MRI results matched the standard method of muscle biopsy. The goal was to find a less invasive way to diagnose these serious conditions quickly and accurately.
