NCT ID NCT06944340
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether using the World Health Organization's trauma care checklist helps injured patients recover better. Sixty adults with trauma were randomly assigned to standard care or care with the checklist. Researchers measured pain, injury severity, complications, and survival to see if the checklist makes a real difference.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
WHO Trauma Care Checklist (a standardized checklist for trauma care)
What this could lead to
If it works, this checklist could become a simple, low-cost tool to improve survival and recovery for trauma patients worldwide.
What could go wrong
This is a small, single-center trial with only 60 patients, so results may not apply broadly. The checklist's benefit may be small or hard to measure.
