First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This small study looks at whether whey protein supplements can increase antioxidant levels in the brain and improve physical function, body composition, and thinking skills in older adults who are starting to become frail. Twenty pre-frail volunteers aged 65 to 85 will take whey protein and be monitored with MRI scans and physical tests. The goal is to see if a simple dietary change can ease frailty symptoms.
