First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested a group well child care program for mothers in treatment for opioid use disorder and their infants. Instead of standard one-on-one checkups, mother-infant pairs attended group visits together from 1 to 18 months of age. The goal was to see if this approach improves healthcare engagement, parenting knowledge, and mother-child interaction quality.

What this could lead to

If successful, this group care model could improve healthcare engagement and parenting skills for mothers recovering from opioid use disorder and their infants.
