New study tests two paths to better health: lose weight or just get active?

NCT ID NCT06284681

Summary

This small pilot study tested two different health coaching strategies for Black adults with obesity and related conditions like high blood pressure or prediabetes. One approach focused on weight loss, while the other focused on increasing physical activity without emphasizing weight. The main goal was to see if a larger study comparing these methods was possible. Participants received coaching, and if they weren't responding well after 7 weeks, their plan was adjusted with extra support like gym memberships or closer work with their doctor.
