New study: shedding pounds to shield the brain
NCT ID NCT05985486
Summary
This study is testing whether a weight loss program can help prevent or delay Alzheimer's disease in adults with Down syndrome. 81 adults with Down syndrome who are overweight but do not have dementia will be assigned to either a weight loss group or a general health education group. Researchers will track changes in weight, diet, and brain health markers over one year to see if losing weight makes a difference.
