Summary

This study tested whether sending specific, well-timed messages through a phone app could help young adults with overweight or obesity stick to daily weight loss behaviors. Over 200 participants used an app with lessons, tracking, and daily goals for weighing, activity, and food. Researchers randomly sent different types of encouraging messages at key moments to see which ones best helped people meet their goals.
