Wearable tech aims to measure back and neck pain objectively
NCT ID NCT07643207
First seen Jun 14, 2026 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study tests a wearable sensor system called AxiSens to see if it can measure spine movement differences between people with and without low back or neck pain. About 20 adults will wear the sensor while doing simple movements like bending forward or sitting. The goal is to see if the device can reliably tell the two groups apart, which could help doctors assess spine problems more objectively in the future.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If successful, this could lead to a simple, wearable-based tool for assessing spine function in clinics.
What could go wrong
This is a very small, early feasibility study with only 20 participants. It is not testing a treatment, so it may not lead to any direct patient benefit.
