First seen Dec 18, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tested a wearable device that buzzes when surgical residents slouch during operations. Twelve residents wore the device while doing laparoscopic procedures to see if it helped them spend more time in an upright posture and reduced their muscle pain. The goal was to find a simple way to prevent long-term back and neck problems in surgeons early in their careers.
