First seen Nov 18, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study looks at wastewater from nursing homes to see if it can predict how many residents carry antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Researchers will collect stool samples from 1,600 elderly residents and compare that to bacteria levels in the facility's wastewater. The goal is to create a model that helps detect and monitor resistance without needing to test every person.
