First seen Apr 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding melatonin, a natural hormone, to the strong antibiotic colistin helps adults with hard-to-treat bacterial infections. These infections are resistant to many drugs and can be life-threatening. The study will compare patients who get melatonin versus a placebo, looking at infection control and side effects. About 70 adults will take part.
