VR boosts skill retention in physio training

NCT ID NCT07270107

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study tested whether immersive virtual reality (VR) could replace traditional face-to-face teaching for physiotherapy students learning the Bobath concept, a method used in neurorehabilitation. Twenty third-year students were randomly assigned to VR or conventional instruction. Both groups learned equally well right after training, but the VR group remembered and performed practical skills better two weeks later. The findings suggest VR is a useful tool for teaching hands-on rehabilitation techniques.
