First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a short, 10-minute virtual reality session with biofeedback can help healthcare workers on surgical wards feel less stressed and more satisfied at work. About 75 nurses, residents, and surgeons will try it once during their shift. The goal is to see if the VR tool is easy to use and fits into a busy hospital day.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Virtual Reality intervention with biofeedback
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a quick, practical tool to help healthcare workers manage stress during their shifts.
What could go wrong
This is a small feasibility study (75 people) that only tests a single session. It is not designed to prove long-term stress reduction, and some people may feel dizzy or uncomfortable using VR.
