New pill aims to calm allergic throat swelling in adults

Summary
This study tests a daily pill called vonoprazan against a placebo in 80 adults with eosinophilic esophagitis, a condition where food allergies cause throat inflammation and trouble swallowing. The main goal is to see if the drug reduces allergic cells in the throat after 12 weeks. Participants will be monitored for up to 24 weeks to check safety and symptom improvement.
