Could your voice reveal hidden depression or anxiety?
NCT ID NCT07789808
First seen Aug 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 28, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This observational study looks at whether voice characteristics can be linked to symptoms of depression and anxiety. Researchers will analyze voice recordings and mental health questionnaires from people who used the Kintsugi Voice Journaling app. The goal is to see if voice biomarkers might help identify or track these conditions in the future.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only, not medical advice or a prediction.
- What this could lead to
- If voice biomarkers reliably track depression and anxiety, this could lead to a non-invasive tool for monitoring mental health through everyday speech.
- What could go wrong
- This is an observational study, so it cannot prove cause and effect. Voice patterns vary widely between people, and the findings may not translate into a reliable screening tool.
