New vaginal surgery may be easier on lungs and heart during operation
NCT ID NCT07667907
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study will compare two types of minimally invasive gynecological surgeries: vNOTES (done through the vagina) and standard laparoscopy (done through small belly cuts). Researchers want to see which method causes less stress on the lungs and heart during the procedure. Thirty women scheduled for elective gynecological surgery will be observed, with half receiving each technique. The goal is to find a safer surgical approach.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If vNOTES proves better for breathing and heart stability, it could become a preferred surgical method for gynecological procedures.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early observational study with only 30 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It does not test long-term outcomes.
