First seen Jan 28, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This pilot study tests whether adding high-dose vitamin D to standard methimazole therapy can help control thyroid function and antibody levels in children aged 9-17 newly diagnosed with Graves' disease. The main goal is to see if a larger trial is possible by measuring recruitment, adherence, and data quality. Participants are randomly assigned to receive either vitamin D plus methimazole or methimazole alone, and are followed for 24 weeks with blood tests and check-ups.
