First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether high-dose vitamin D plus behavioral therapy can help children with dry overactive bladder (OAB) urinate less often. 180 children received either standard drugs or vitamin D drops for a short time. The goal was to see if vitamin D works better than usual medication.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
vitamin D (dietary supplement)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, non-drug option to reduce frequent urination in children with dry overactive bladder.
What could go wrong
This is a small, completed trial with 180 children. The results may not apply to all kids, and high-dose vitamin D can have side effects like high calcium levels.
