New eye implant could give glaucoma patients a clearer future
NCT ID NCT07220876
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This trial tests a tiny device called the VisiPlate shunt to help drain fluid and lower eye pressure in people with open-angle glaucoma that hasn't responded to other treatments. About 165 adults will receive the implant and be followed to see if their eye pressure drops by at least 20%. The goal is to control the disease and prevent further vision loss, not to cure it.
