First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study tested a new way to control a robotic arm mounted on a power wheelchair. The arm uses a camera to help guide itself, making it easier to do everyday tasks like picking up a glass or opening a fridge. 21 adults who use power wheelchairs and have trouble with such tasks took part. They compared the new vision-guided system to the usual joystick control, and researchers measured how fast and successfully they could complete tasks.
