VR headsets beat Pre-Surgery jitters in heart patients
NCT ID NCT07263659
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tested whether a virtual reality (VR) experience could reduce anxiety in 75 patients scheduled for a heart valve repair procedure called TEER. Patients either got standard education or standard education plus a VR tour of the procedure and hospital. The researchers measured anxiety levels right after the education and again a week before the procedure. The goal was to see if VR could help patients feel calmer and more prepared.
