First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 13 times
Summary
This study tests whether using virtual reality (VR) headsets can reduce anxiety and pain in children aged 7 to 12 during minor orthopedic surgery. Half the children will use calming VR environments before and during surgery, while the other half will receive standard sedative medication. Researchers will measure anxiety, stress hormones, pain levels, and satisfaction to see if VR can improve the surgical experience and reduce the need for drugs.
