NCT ID NCT07463105
First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study compares virtual reality-based rehabilitation to standard physiotherapy for people with chronic low back pain. Eighty participants aged 40-65 will be split into two groups: one doing VR exercises plus standard care, the other only standard care. The goal is to see if VR can improve pain, balance, mobility, and quality of life over four weeks, with follow-up at eight weeks.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Virtual reality-assisted rehabilitation (non-immersive VR training using Tecnobody Homing Studio system)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could offer a more engaging and effective rehabilitation option for chronic low back pain, potentially improving pain, mobility, and quality of life.
- What could go wrong
- This is a small, early-stage trial with only 80 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. The VR approach may not be significantly better than standard physiotherapy, and long-term benefits are unknown.
