NCT ID NCT05583903

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether healthy volunteers would find a virtual reality (VR) software called ReCognitionVR usable and acceptable. The software, delivered through an Oculus Quest 2 headset, is designed to improve attention and executive functions. Thirty healthy adults aged 18-35 or 60 and older participated. The main goal was to see if at least 70% of participants would use the software for 20 minutes, and to measure usability scores.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

Virtual reality software (ReCognitionVR) delivered via Oculus Quest 2

What this could lead to

If successful, this could show that virtual reality is a practical and enjoyable way to train attention and thinking skills in healthy people.

What could go wrong

This is a small, early feasibility study in healthy volunteers, not patients. It only measures short-term use and satisfaction, not long-term cognitive benefits.
