Which incubator grows better embryos? new trial aims to find out
NCT ID NCT06214936
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a benchtop incubator helps more embryos reach the blastocyst stage compared to a standard box incubator in people undergoing IVF. 252 participants will have their eggs split and placed in both incubators. The goal is to see which device supports better embryo development.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
What this could lead to
If benchtop incubators prove better, IVF labs may adopt them to improve embryo development rates.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage study focused on lab outcomes, not pregnancy success. Results may not change clinical practice.
