New study tests if video scopes make baby intubation safer
NCT ID NCT06757543
First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026
Summary
This study looks at two methods doctors use to place a breathing tube in newborns who need help breathing. The standard method uses a direct view, while the newer method uses a camera on a screen. Researchers want to see if the video method leads to more successful first attempts without drops in oxygen or heart rate. About 840 babies across multiple hospitals will take part.
