First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests a group program called Veteran Voices and Visions (VVV) for veterans with psychosis who hear voices. The program, led by a peer specialist and a clinician, aims to reduce distress and help veterans feel a sense of belonging. 160 veterans will be randomly assigned to VVV or another peer-led group, and researchers will compare how well each reduces symptoms and improves social functioning.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only โ not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Veteran Voices and Visions (VVV) group therapy
- What this could lead to
- If it works, this could offer a new, peer-supported way to help veterans with psychosis feel less distressed and more connected to others.
- What could go wrong
- This is an early efficacy trial with only 160 participants, so results may not apply broadly. It compares two active groups, so the specific benefit of VVV over the other may be small.
