NCT ID NCT06186570

First seen Jul 01, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a 6-week online self-help program can help people with psychotic disorders who hear voices at least once a week. The program combines metacognitive training and mindfulness techniques to reduce the frequency and distress of auditory hallucinations. Participants are randomly assigned to either the online program or a waitlist while continuing their usual treatment. The goal is to see if this digital tool improves how people cope with voices and their overall well-being.

Active substance

Online-based self-help intervention combining metacognitive training and mindfulness

What this could lead to

If effective, this could offer a low-cost, accessible way for people with psychosis to better manage distressing voices from home.

What could go wrong

This is a small early-stage trial with 86 participants, and the intervention is self-guided online, so results may not apply to everyone or replace standard care.
