Summary
This study is testing a software application called the Respiratory Knowledge Portal (RKP) to see if it helps intensive care unit (ICU) teams better follow best practices for patients on mechanical ventilators (breathing machines). The goal is to reduce complications like ventilator-associated events and shorten the time patients need the ventilator. The study involves up to 875 patients of all ages on ventilators in specific ICUs at a Texas hospital.
