Vending machines could save lives: new study tests naloxone access

NCT ID NCT06429436

First seen Nov 15, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether placing vending machines that dispense naloxone (a medication that reverses opioid overdoses) in communities can help more people get this life-saving drug. Researchers will track how many naloxone kits are distributed before and after installing the machines. Anyone in the community who wants naloxone can use the machines, as long as they can enter a code or open a kiosk.
