Steam therapy for prostate cancer under Long-Term review
NCT ID NCT07455058
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This registry tracks 2,500 men with prostate cancer who receive Vanquish therapy, a procedure that uses water vapor (steam) to destroy cancerous tissue. The goal is to see how well it controls the disease and what side effects occur over time in real-world settings. Participants are followed for years to monitor survival and complications.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Vanquish Water Vapor Ablation Device
What this could lead to
If successful, this registry could confirm that water vapor ablation is a safe and effective way to treat prostate cancer with fewer side effects than traditional surgery.
What could go wrong
This is an observational registry, not a controlled trial, so results may be influenced by patient selection and routine care variations. Serious complications, though rare, can occur.
