This study asks whether levels of uromodulin, a protein in the blood, can indicate the severity of kidney damage in people with lupus nephritis. Researchers will compare uromodulin levels with kidney biopsy results from 90 participants, including those with different classes of lupus nephritis and active lupus without kidney involvement. If uromodulin correlates with biopsy findings, it could become a less invasive way to monitor the disease.
