Urine test may spare bladder cancer patients from unnecessary second surgery

NCT ID NCT07187635

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Aug 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study looks at whether a simple urine test for tumor DNA can tell which bladder cancer patients truly need a second surgery after their first tumor removal. About 196 adults with non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer will be randomly assigned to have their repeat surgery decision guided by the urine test or by standard care. The goal is to avoid unnecessary surgeries and their risks while keeping cancer control safe.
