NCT ID NCT07450950

First seen Mar 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study looks at how well patients understand the information they get before major abdominal cancer surgery and how their expectations match their actual recovery. Researchers will follow 90 adults having surgery for cancers of the pancreas, liver, esophagus, stomach, or bowel. They will measure decision regret, anxiety, and depression before surgery and up to three months after. The goal is to improve how doctors communicate with patients so they feel more supported and less regretful.
