NCT ID NCT05616130

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 19 times

Summary

This observational study looks at how severe trauma changes the body's blood and bone marrow, aiming to understand why some patients become immune-suppressed and develop infections like sepsis. Researchers will collect blood and bone marrow samples from 255 trauma patients and compare them to elective hip surgery patients. The goal is to identify patterns that could lead to better treatments, but this study does not test any new therapy.
