Summary
This study tests whether adding a one-hour cognitive behavioral session focused on handling uncertainty to standard lethal means counseling helps active-duty service members store firearms more securely. One hundred participants who own unlocked, loaded guns will attend two sessions and complete daily surveys for 28 days. The goal is to see if the combined approach is acceptable and leads to safer storage practices.
