Doctors test if ultrasound makes spinal anesthesia faster and safer
NCT ID NCT07327801
Summary
This study compared two methods for performing spinal anesthesia: the traditional palpation technique and a newer ultrasound-guided approach. Researchers enrolled 136 adults having elective surgery to see if using ultrasound made the procedure quicker, required fewer needle attempts, or caused fewer complications. The goal was to gather evidence on whether real-time ultrasound imaging improves this common anesthesia technique.
