Summary
This study will test whether letting patients control their own sedation during hip replacement surgery is better than having a doctor control it. About 104 adults will be randomly assigned to either press a button for extra sedation or have a clinician adjust the medication. The goal is to see if patient-controlled sedation uses less drug and keeps patients just as comfortable.
