New ultrasound technique may predict chemo success early in breast cancer

NCT ID NCT04715958

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a special type of ultrasound, using a contrast dye called Definity, can measure pressure inside breast tumors to predict how well chemotherapy is working. About 200 women with locally advanced breast cancer will get three of these ultrasounds before and during their treatment. The goal is to see if this imaging method can tell early on whether the cancer is responding, which could help doctors adjust treatment sooner.
